    Default 2000 mazda miata

I am having trouble getting the timing belt on correctly, any experience with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
I have already changed the water pump, thermostat, gaskets and the camshaft position sensor with no problems. After I put the belt on and do 2 revolutions, it always seems 1 tooth off and doesn't want to start.

    Hello Jill,

Sorry to hear about the difficulty. The key is having the marks line up after doing two revolutions. The vehicle will be not timed correctly otherwise. As a reminder, be careful not to damage the timing belt during the installation. One suggestion, if possible, look for someone in your area to work with who has experience with this kind of repair. Many folks with experience have gained theirs by working with others.
