Default 1987, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, window vent removal

I'm having some trouble removing the window from my 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The reason is because I can't remove the window vent. The Haynes manual gives directions for doing so, but seems to be missing some steps. There is a piece that allows the window vent to swivel that I can't remove, and there seems to be something holding it from the inside of the door that I can't get to. I'm hoping one of the Haynes experts can help me get this removed.
I've already removed the door panel, the plastic protector, the armrest, the electric mirror control, the electric window control panel, the door lock mechanism, the weather stripping, and all the points of connection for the window vent except the above mentioned. Any suggestions you may have in removing the window vent would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello bigchamp7,

The vent window assembly is part of the run channel for the main window. If you contact us at research@haynes.com, we can send you some additional information to help.
