Default 1996 Chrysler T&C (Changing Back Plugs?)

Just discovered this site while looking for some advice to change the back (Fire wall side) spark plugs on a 3.8L
engine in an 1996 Chrysler T&C van. I registered and hope I could tap the expertise of those who have been in
my position before. I already tried removing the wiper booth for more access but there was no room to reach
around behind. Tried from underneath the van and could only get the left spark plug removed and replaced one
out but the exhaust pipe coming off the manifold was in the way and created a difficult situation for removing the
other two spark plugs. What other ways are possible without having to remove the exhaust pipe or the alternator?
Thanks for your help...most appreciated. Berge

    Hi Berge,

Yes, plugs for cylinders 1, 3 and 5 are kind of difficult to replace. You'll find the secret in Haynes manual no. 30011, Chapter 1, Section 28. If you can't find that manual at an auto parts store near you, you can order one from this website or call 1-800-442-9637 and ask for the order desk.
