Thread: 1984 Buick Skylark-Oil leakage

    Default 1984 Buick Skylark-Oil leakage

I've jacked up the car, looked underneath, looked everywhere I can for this pesky leak and still no joy.The leak seems to be below/around the oil filter(already changed it),nearest the water pump and the belts.Anyone ever have a similar problem?I've checked the oil pan and oil sending unit and it isn't those items either.

    Thanks!

    Hi thephantomtw,

All I can do is guess; it could be coming from the timing gear cover, crankshaft front oil seal, oil pan, valve cover, oil pressure switch . . . The best thing to do would be to have the engine thoroughly steam cleaned, then look for the leak. That will make locating it easier, and really make the repair more pleasant!
