    Unhappy Timing Chain cover bolts on 3.8

    I'm trying to replace the timing chain on my 96 Chrysler Town & Country with a 3.8 engine using your manual no. 30011. On page 2C-2 of that manual Haynes lists the bolt torque specifications for the Timing chain cover bolts as follows;

    Timing chain cover bolts
    M8...............................20
    M10..............................40

    My question is, how can I tell which applies to my engine. There are 8 bolts on the cover marked 9.8 and one larger and longer bolt marked 10.9. Also the engine mount plate bolts specs are 40 Ft-lbs. Since this plate also helps in the tightening of the plate, I have to conclude that all bolts going thru the plate should be tightened to the torque, so why list two different specs? Please help.

    Thanks

    On 1996 models the mounting bolts are all M8 bolts which need to be torqued to 20 ft-lbs.
