Default "96" Chevy Blazer Transmission Filter Replacement.

I have the manual for Chevrolet S-10 & GMC Sonoma pick-ups. I am trying to replace the transmission filter in my 96 Chevy Blazer. I have done this on other cars, and it was pretty simple. I crawled under the car yesterday and gave it a look. I noticed that most of the bolts can easily be taken out of the pan. However, on the one side the shift cable ( image 4.5 Chapter 7B-3) lays over the bolts preventing me from removing the bolts with a rachet.

Now in chapter 1 of the book ( page 1-22 section 30) it makes it sound like all you have to do is remove the bolts. It does not mention removing the shift cable. I do not understand this. Do I have to remove the shift cable to have access to those bolts, or am I overlooking something?

    Hi Rocky_G,

You'll have to unbolt the shift cable bracket from the transmission to access all of the bolts.
