I would like to know what makes the fuel pump/fuel pump relay run for approx. 3 seconds after you turn the key on? There is no means of sending pressure built up to the relay or pump. Thanks

It's the PCM that energizes the pump to prime the system. If it doesn't receive any impulses from the crank sensor, it times out and shuts off the pump.
