    Default Troubleshooting

I have the haynes 3450 manual. is there a haynes website just for mercedez, because i don't see that the model in the haynes book search. I have a 190E 1989 Mercedez-Benz. The ignition wire, coil and distributor cap have been replaced the engine is not turning. The Battery, Check Engine and ABS light stay on after turning on the starter. Tried Jumping the car. Any comments as far as what i should check next?

    Hi Marysol,

Do you mean the engine is not cranking over with the starter, or do you mean that it isn't firing up? As you can imagine, we really can't diagnose problems from a remote location, but the distributor cap, coil, and ignition wires have noting to do with the starter cranking the engine, so your description is kind of confusing.

The manual you have is the only one we have for your year of Mercedes 190. It is a UK-spec manual; the 190 manual we have for the North American market only goes through 1988. Contact our U.K. office at [***]www.haynes.co.uk[/***] - maybe they can help.
