Thread: adjustment for brakes on a 66 impala

Default adjustment for brakes on a 66 impala

The wheel cylinder was leaking an all the the brakes an the springs
had to be replaced. It feels like that there is only one brake working on the car when you drive it.

    Hi Johndeere387,

We don't have a manual on your vehicle, but basically, you have to adjust the shoes using the star-wheel adjusters until the shoes drag on the drum as the drum is turned, then back off the adjuster just enough so the shoes don't drag.
