Default 1988 Isuzu Trooper, Timing, EST Connector

    Hi,

I need to check the timing on a 1988 Isuzu Trooper, 2.6L, the Haynes manual says to unplug the EST connector, under the center console at the ECM. There are 3 connectors there but are not labeled and the manual does not have an image to indicate which one. Anyone know how to identify the EST Connector?

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi dj7934,

As stated in the Haynes manual for your 1988 Trooper (manual #47020), you only need to unplug the EST connector if you have a V6 engine. Your 2.6L is a four-cylinder engine, so you should not have to unplug anything. Your timing spec. is 12-degrees BTDC.

Thank you for using Haynes manuals!
