Question How to Replace Control Arm Bushing on 1995 Toyota Corolla

My driver side control arm bushing is swollen and needs to be replaced (not the "bushing/bracket" assembly...the other bushing). Is this done easily? I know some bushing replacements require the use of a press. Not sure if that is the case here. I thought I would save a few bucks and replace just the bushing in lieu of the entire control arm. Any feedback or help is appreciated.

    Hi Guy,

The Toyota factory service manual (and the Haynes manual) doesn't state whether or not that bushing is replaceable, which leads me to believe that it isn't available separately. What you should do is call a Toyota dealer parts department to see if you can buy just the bushing. If it is available, a hydraulic press will be required to remove the old bushing and install the new one.
