    Default oil pressure gauge

I want to hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to my trucks engine in the manual it says the place too hook it up is by the oil filter its kind of confusing. Are they talking about the allen type screw on the side of the oil filter housing? The picture is confusing also. I have a 1994 GMC Silverado 350 5.7 engine.

    Hi chevyaz,

You have to thread the hose for your gauge where the oil pressure sending unit is. If you are installing an oil pressure gauge inside of your truck, then you'd have to get an adapter (t-fitting) so you still retain your sending unit.

The sending unit is shown in illustration 2.2. It is above the oil filter, at the left rear of the engine block.
