Question 2007 Jetta Air Filter Change

Hi there does any one know how to change the air filter in a 2007 Jetta??

I'm not being stupid. I'v worked on alot of cars and can not figure this thing

out . theres a cover over the engine that looks like it is hinged in the back so there

must be a release somewhere in the front I just can't find it

Oh and i'm sure your book will have that in there when it comes out

just the filter maybe completely pluged by that time

    Hi rob29,

I changed an air filter on my kid's friend's '07 Jetta with the 5-cyl engine last year and I know what you mean. Why couldn't they have made it simple?!! Anyway, I can't really give you specifics, and we don't have any factory service information yet, but I remember having to loosen the hose clamp to either the throttle body or the mass airflow sensor and detaching the air duct, then there was at least one other fastener securing the air filter housing that had to be removed. Once all that was done, I think the housing lifts up and you can get at the filter.

Wish I could be of more help, but it was awhile ago. If I come across any more info I'll post it.

Thanks for your interest in Haynes manuals!
