Default Pontiac Sunfire - License Bulb Replacement

    Hello!

I need to replace the license plate bulbs on my '98 Sunfire, 2-door.

Per the guide, the bulb should be easy to see, and I just need to unscrew the easy-to-find screws that attach the lens to the trunk lid. But this doesn't match my car at all! There are two sockets I can see if I open the trunk all the way and look above the license plate. The light from these bulbs also illuminate the word 'Pontiac'.

How do I access these sockets? Not a lot of room or leverage. Any help would be great. Thank you!

    Hi GM44,

The factory service manual for your 1998 Sunfire shows there are two screws that need to be removed before you can access the bulb. The picture is a bit unclear, and I can't really see if there is a lens to remove or not. But it does appear that the bulb is removed from outside the vehicle.

    I hope that helps.
