    Default Used my Hayes manual to replace a drive belt on my 2005 Nissan Xterra

    HI, I just changed my drive belt on my 2005 Nissan Xterra and my Hayes book told me to disconnect the neg battery cable from the battery which I did , after I was finished and hooked up the cable to the battery and started the vehicle my Service Engine Soon light came on, I know there isn't anything wrong with my car but I would like to know how to reset the SES light .....

    Hello Lorianne,

    We're glad to hear of your success in changing your drive belt! You might need to have the light turned off by using a scan tool - Refer to Section 2 in Chapter 6 regarding the check engine light. It's quite possible that the light will go off after the vehicle has been driven a few times...
