I have a 2002 Alero V6. In the manual it on page 5-5 in picture 4.4c it show that both the grounds for the battery cable ground out on the body. But in my car one of the grounds, ground out near the flywheel/transmission casing. Is there a reason for this? Or can I just ground out both of them to the body, like it shows in the manual?

Hi rno2,

That photo shows that two of the ground cables attach to the body there, but it doesn't imply that those are the only two branches of the ground cable. There also has to be one going to the engine/transmission, since the powertrain has to be grounded to the chassis as well.
