I have a 1998 Honda CR-V and it is not getting fire to the plugs. On page 12-71 in manual 42025 I have voltage coming to the ignition coil on the blk/yel wire (at the supply side connector).I don't know what kind of input signal I should be getting on the yel/grn wire to the engine control module(voltage or what). Could you help in this matter? Thanks JAMES

Hi James,

The procedure in the Honda factory service manual for diagnosing the ignition control module does not specify what kind of signal you should get on the yellow/green wire; it just states that there should be continuity between the ICM and the ECM on that wire. The procedure for diagnosing the ICM in Chapter 5 of your Haynes manual follows the procedure in the factory service manual. Basically, it's a process of elimination.

If you need some more help after following the ignition system component checking procedures in Chapter 5, contact one of our tech service reps at research@haynes.com, or give them a call at 1-800-442-9637.
