I am trying to replace the brake pads on my 2000 jeep cherokee and I cannot get any of my allen wrenches to fit the bolt to remove the pad. I have tried both metric and standard and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any solutions or answers?

According to the factory service manual, it shouldnt be an allen or Torx bolt, just a standard socket will work. Some model did use a 12-point bolt. However, Allen-head bolts were used on earlier models (like the one shown in our manual). If niether your standard nor metric Allen wrenches fit, either the wrench is worn out or the bolt has been deformed (by someone using the wrong tool on it), or you're missing a wrench from your set.
