I want to order the repair manual for the hilux surf Japanese version not the american model hilux surf

The Hilux surf i have has a 3YE 2000cc engine and a YN130 chassis number
The year is some where between 1990 and 1996 i am not exactly sure what year it is since the Silver plate that has the year on it has been ripped off.

Hi wanydany,

The manual you're looking at, 92075, won't cover the 3YE engine. However, we have an Australian version of the manual that does - it's manual no. 92735. Go to our Australian website - www.haynes.com.au - you can order one there.

Thanks for your interest in Haynes manuals!

So will this manual cover the Hilux Surf with the YN130 chassis.

I just took a look at the manual and the description is as follows

Series RN, YN & VZN, 2WD & 4WD, with petrol engines: 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.2L, (12R, 18R, 20R, 22R, 22R-E, 1Y, 2Y, 3Y 4Y, 4Y-E & V6 engines.

I have 2000cc 3YE engine, to be exact i think its 1988cc. I notice the book only has 1600cc, 1800cc 2200cc. I wanted to know if the book covers the 2000cc 3YE engine?

The engine models it covers is 3Y does that mean it covers all 3Y engine from 1976-1996. Does the 3Y series engine include the 3YE engine.

Hi again wanydany,

Manual no. 92735 covers the Surf, which in the USA and Australia is called the 4Runner (I actually have one, but it has the 3.0L V6). It covers the YN chassis, but I/m not sure what the 130 portion of that ID means. Also, it appears as though the listing on our AU website is not quite complete. I have a copy of the book right here and it does list the 2.0L engine. The 3Y is the 2.0L pushrod engine. I think the book might have been updated at some point, and maybe the 2.0L was accidentally left off the back cover. We'll be back in the office Monday morning, so I'll check it out for you.

Looking through this manual, though, the only fuel-injected engines appear to be the 22R-E, the 4Y-E, and the 3VZ-FE (V6) engines.

Like I said, I'll try to get more information on Monday. The main problem is that all of our information for the Australian market (which would also serve other Pacific regions) is located in Australia. You might be able to get the information faster if you contact them. But I will pursue this.

Have a great weekend!

Well don't worry too much about the chassis its not a big deal.
What the main concern is the engine.
Yes my engine is the 3YE 2000cc fuel-injection system. So i am hoping the book will cover the 3YE 2000cc fuel injection system. Get back to me if you found out anything.

wanydany,

Well, the book does cover the 3Y (2.0L) pushrod engine (the listing on our AU website omitted that), but it doesn't specifically cover the 3Y-E engine. It does cover the 4Y-E engine (which is fuel injected), so the fuel injection system might be similar, but not having done the research, I don't know. Most Toyota port fuel injection systems are very similar to each other, at least physically.
