My car drained my new battery in four months so I checked the engine electrical systems chapter in my haynes manual and it told me to check the charging system. When I connected a test light between the negative post and clamp it came on, so I disconnected the alternator and it still came on. I was then told to pull fuses until the light didn't come on. I pulled a fuse in the fuse/relay panel in the engine compartment (it was a pinkish red and said 30A) and the light went off.

My question is now what do I do to fix the short? I tried looking at the wiring diagrams in the back but they don't make sense to me. Thanks for any help

veyron66 - You need to identify the circuit of that fuse. Then look at the components in that circuit and the wiring to make sure none have been melted or cut.
