I recently installed a cold air intake system into my 1998 Honda Accord and I was wondering if an air breather could be installed to take the place of the hosing the feeds from my engine back to my intake. My friend has an Air breather from JC Whitney that secures to his engine that keeps from having this excess air from the engine feed back into his intake on his Mitsubishi Eclipse. When I looked it up online they said that it fits universally to any vehicle. I was wondering if this is posible and how difficult it would be. I own a Haynes manual for my car but it does not go into detail for something quite like this (obviously). I hope you can help.

Thanks,
davisi

Hi davisi,

Yes, you should be able to install the breather with no problems. BUT - check to make sure that it won't cause your car to fail the visual part of an emissions test first.

For other mods you can get a copy of our Haynes Sport Compact Performance (no. 11102) and Sport Compact Customizing (no. 11101) manuals.

Hey thanks for the advice to check on the visual inspection. I checked it out and it turns out that I would not pass. You saved me some trouble admin. Thanks again.
