I have a problem. I went to pull my engine oil dipstick out of my 2000 Nissan Sentra and the handle broke and the dipstick is suck in the tube that is connected to the engine. Is there anyway to get the dipstick out of the tube without taking the oil pan off of the car?

Hi d86forsyth,

If you can't grab the dipstick with a pair of thin needle-nose pliers, you might be able to twist the dipstick tube loose where it enters the engine block and pull it out along with the dipstick. Just be careful not to distort the tube. If you can get it out, be sure to use a sealant on the tube when reinstalling it. If neither of these methods works, I guess you'll have to resort to pulling the oil pan.

There is another way you can do it and that is with a telesopic magnet, I have used it on a couple of occasions on peoples cars, you get one small enough to push down the tube and it will grab the stick!
